I always tell my clients that popcorn is a healthy choice if you’re craving a salty snack. It’s high in fibre & anti-oxidants and low in calories.
That being said, it’s only considered truly healthy if you pop it yourself using organic kernels (check out my easy Homemade Microwave Popcorn recipe). Corn is one of the most common genetically modified foods, and that includes popcorn (soy & canola are other top-GMO foods). Buying organic ensures that it’s non-GMO.
I usually buy my organic kernels at Shoppers Drug Mart (Nativa Organics), but you can probably find them at most health food stores as well.
