Healthy Cottage Meal Ideas

John and I recently spent an extra long weekend at our family’s cottage in Quebec. Both sets of parents were there, and my sister-in-law & her husband. There was so much good food & local, seasonal produce, and for the most part we kept it pretty healthy. There were some cocktails; I’ll admit – even nutritionists can’t say no to cocktails on the August long weekend.
I thought I would do a picture blog today, and let the photos speak for themselves. Enjoy!

Wow is right! Yummy looking and I am sure tastes even better. Lauren, you have created a strong desire for the recipies … and what you make for dressings … please?? It would be great if you have a chance … love your blog! Thanks for all your healthy and colourful ideas!! Laurie

Thanks Laurie! Well, most of the dressings were made from scratch and started with olive oil and an acid (either lemon juice or vinegar), and I think I added some OJ and honey to the Watermelon salad. The Med. Supper salad is a family favourite, and is adaped from a Chatelaine recipe, here’s the link: http://food.chatelaine.com/Recipes/View/Middle_Eastern_supper_salad
      Enjoy!
