Bienvenido a Miami!

Me and my boys (sans Fisher 🙁 ) have been in Miami this past week so I thought I would share a little photo blog. We leave South Beach tomorrow, and are driving up to visit John’s family in Madeira Beach. Here are a few photos of beach life with my boys!

Blocks Pizza on night one! The dough is made with the “Mother Yeast” and leavened for 3 days making it easier to digest. All the toppings are organic & fresh, never frozen. I would highly recommend it the next time you’re in South Beach!

Daily morning jog on the beach boardwalk. I tend to indulge more when I’m on vacation so daily exercise is a must! You gotta earn your wine!

Day one: trip to Whole Foods for the essentials.

John’s office for the week!

Jack loved crawling in the park across from our hotel.

You gotta love happy hour in South Beach!

I never knew the absolute joy of a playpen until now. I will be purchasing one the minute we get home.

Quick & healthy breakfast of oats, walnuts, prunes, granola, almond milk and banana.

Easter weekend at the beach!

Awesome, organic ingredients from Whole Foods for our sausage pasta. We’ve cooked variations of my Roasted Cherry Tomato pasta recipe in every country we’ve travelled in over the past few years. There’s no kitchen too small for Chef John.

Jack’s cutting his four top teeth, and got a cold so we’ve been up before the sun most mornings. Despite being exhausted – we were able to experience some amazing South Beach sunrises.

A little chicken fajita fiesta! Fajitas are another one of our “go-to travelling recipes.”

Daily happy hour and Jack’s dinner on Ocean Drive!

A little Mediterranean inspired appie! This is a healthy choice because it’s not deep-fried, and the hummus is a great source of fibre, protein, and olives are considered a healthy fat (just have to keep the white pitas to a minimum).

Pizza Rustica tonight for dinner – another healthy pizza choice in South Beach!

South Beach has been a blast – onto Madeira tomorrow!

About Lauren

Welcome! I’m Lauren Follett. A couple years ago, while working in the corporate world of downtown Toronto, I decided to pursue my passion for healthy living and enrolled in the Distance Education program with The Canadian School of Natural Nutrition. I studied on my lunch breaks, after work, on the weekends, and while travelling through South America. The world of health & nutrition can be confusing. There are a lot of mixed messages out there when it comes to health: low fat, low calories, sugar-free, low-carb, gluten-free…leaving you confused, frustrated, and wondering where to start. That’s where I come in. As a Registered Nutritionist, my goal is to help you accomplish your health & wellness goals. I don’t believe in diets or quick fixes. I believe in living a healthy lifestyle, which requires you to get educated, and learn how to make healthy choices. I’m dedicated to working closely with my clients to teach & motivate them to make healthy choices, discuss healthy living strategies and create customized nutrition programs that fit with their life.
