Welcome! I’m Lauren Follett.
As a Registered Holistic Nutritionist, my goal is to help you feel and look your best. I don’t believe in diets or quick fixes; I believe in living a healthy lifestyle. This not only requires you to learn how to make healthy choices, but how to eat mindfully and trust yourself with all types of food.
The world of health and nutrition can be confusing. There are a lot of mixed messages out there when it comes to health: low fat, low calories, sugar-free, low-carb, gluten-free…leaving you confused, frustrated, and wondering where to start. That’s where I come in.
I’m dedicated to working closely with my clients to teach and motivate them to make healthy choices, discuss mindful eating strategies and create customized nutrition and fitness programs that fit with their life.
Designations:
I graduated in June 2005 with a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Western Ontario, and earned my Registered Holistic Nutritionist designation from the Canadian School of Natural Nutrition in December 2012.
In my spare time:
I love spending time with my husband, our sons Jack and Maxwell, our Yorkshire terrier Fisher, and our family and friends. I aim to do something active every day, which usually includes running after the boys, a Nike Training Club app workout or yoga. I love to cook and am always in search of new recipes to try. Our family travels every chance we get.
What I’m not afraid to admit:
- I love coffee, and have a cup every morning with a banana
- Blending cocoa powder, avocado, maple syrup, dates and coconut oil makes a delicious chocolate pudding
- Dark chocolate covered almonds, pizza and a Cosmopolitan martini are a few of my favourite things
- Some of my favourite foods are bananas, pineapple, watermelon, kale, hemp seeds, chia seeds, walnuts, avocado, eggs, apples, almond flour, trout, chicken and dark chocolate
